Hog Tales® Staff Photographer

Hog Tales®, the official publication of the Harley Owners Group®, is sent bimonthly to all full and full life members. One of the most popular of the member benefits, it features information about other H.O.G.® benefits and services, events around the world, member stories, and updates on the Harley-Davidson Motor Company.

It's a publication by, for, and about H.O.G. members. And we need your help to make it the best it can be. Hog Tales editorial encourages story and photograph submissions from H.O.G. members for possible use in the publication.

We accept original hard-copy prints and high-resolution digital images.

To ensure sufficient quality for your digital images, set your camera to provide at least 300 dpi resolution, 1200 x 1800 pixels or 1600 x 2400 (at least 4" x 6" in size), and a digital file size of at least 500k (kilobytes).

No computer-printed photographs made at home or in a store will be accepted for publication. To submit your digital photos, please burn them to a CD.

Send pictures to:
Hog Tales Editor c/o H.O.G. Office
3700 W. Juneau Avenue
Milwaukee, WI 53208

Those members whose photographs are published in the magazine will receive a Hog Tales Staff Photographer pin.

Here are some helpful tips for taking photos of you and your bike:

Choose a clean, uncluttered background for your photo (i.e., trees, water, fields, etc.).
Avoid creeping shadows by keeping the sun over your right or left shoulder when snapping your photo (never directly in front of or behind you).
Angle your bike so that the right side and front end are facing you.
Don't zoom in on your bike from a distance. Instead, stand close to your bike and set your camera to its highest zoom setting, then
slowly back away until the bike is completely in the viewfinder.
Turn off your camera's "date" setting so the date is not displayed on the front of the photograph.

Unused photos will be retained for possible future use and will not be returned.
